A pre-cooked health meal with Moringa, Baobab, and Spekboom — high in dietary fibre and omega fatty acids, a source of 12 vitamins and 5 minerals, low cholesterol, and essentially sodium-free.

Technical sheet — ingredients, nutrition, and use

  • • 12.3 g dietary fibre per 3.5 oz
  • • 14.5 g protein per 3.5 oz
  • • Very high in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids
  • • Source of 12 vitamins and 5 minerals

What's in this

Moringa (mor-ING-uh)

A green leaf powder cooked into Maxwell 19 and 21 — food you stir into a maize-and-soya meal, not a mystery capsule.

  • • Leaf powder unusually dense in minerals and plant protein for a green powder.
  • • Gently green flavour; the job is everyday micronutrient density you can eat.
  • • Used as food on the Maxwell 19 and 21 labels, beside Baobab.

Moringa leaves have long been eaten as food across South Asia and Africa. Maxwell uses the leaf as an African meal ingredient, not a folklore story.

Baobab (BAY-oh-bab)

Dried fruit pulp from the baobab tree — sour-sweet, high in vitamin C and fibre, cooked into Maxwell 19 and 21.

  • • Fruit powder naturally high in vitamin C and dietary fibre.
  • • Sour-sweet character that does not need a flavour house to invent it.
  • • One of the two African trees named on the Maxwell 19 label.

Baobab fruit pulp is a Southern African food. Maxwell uses the powder as fruit in a bowl, not a sweetener stack.

Spekboom (SPECK-boom)

A Southern African succulent in Maxwell 21 — tart and mineral, grown in the same climate as the people who eat it.

  • • Gives Maxwell 21 a local signature imported ‘smart foods’ cannot copy.
  • • Used in landscape restoration and, here, in a porridge.
  • • Tart, mineral character in a high-fibre, very-low-sodium meal.

Spekboom is a Southern African plant. Maxwell puts it in the bowl as food, named on the pack.

The story

Maxwell 21 is the fibre-forward porridge in the range. Alongside Moringa and Baobab it includes Spekboom, the Southern African succulent known for both landscape restoration and a tart, mineral green note. Non-GMO maize and soya sit underneath a vitamin and mineral premix. It is the bowl you choose when you want more fibre and almost no sodium.

How to use

  1. Ratio: 1 part Maxwell 21 to 2 parts water. Hot or cold.
  2. Single serving: 1.8 oz (50 g) (3 heaped tablespoons) + 3.4 fl oz (100 ml) water.
  3. Bulk: 11 lb (5 kg) into about 2.6 gal (10 L) boiled water, off the heat.
